OT - NVDA

OT - NVDA - For a mere $2,999, you can get the newest
'Titan' videocard from Nvidia, with more than 1,000 'cuda cores'.
In truth, it's not meant for gamers like the previous iterations,
priced arouond $1,200 were. Rather, it's for scientitsts and
researches who get access to Nvidia's library of applications,
including 'deep learning' modules. While I bought NVDA at
*precisely* the wrong time (It immediately fell about 10%, with the
tax bill and rotation into financials - halted, at least for the
moment), I'm not dumping my stake - I think that going forward,
they've got so many viable chip initiatives in so many areas of
growth (3d imaging, driverless cars, machine learning, etc.) that
they'll do well going down the road. Their PE is probably ahead of
itself here, and vulnerable to corrections. But what they're
involved in are ongoing and evolving fields of info tech, and I
don't think there's any 'wait' period on those fields continuing to
grow.

<a href="

I did not sell calls ahead of CIEN's earnings -
not the right choice, as a sunny outlook didn't outweigh the
current results, I guess. Still, the price hit was not too bad, and
after seeing such stocks get beaten to death following
disappointments, it's more than liveable. Here's to all those
analysts who still have $28-$32 Pt's on the stock.
