I also checked my Occulus Rift box bundle - forgot that it also
came with an Xbox style controller - must be that the headset box
is from before the touch controllers came as part of the bundle -
and the pre-touch controllers is the main reason the HTC Hive was a
better idea at the time. HTC Hive has a large 'tracked space', but
if you buy a 3rd sensor for the Occulus, it gives you....I think
maybe a 15' X 15' space to move in (don't hold me to that.)
So the 'Go' idea of not having to drag all these cords around is a
definite plus, but the whole connectivity thing with the Go need
clarification, which I've not seen so far.
As for applications, they really are endless, and the business
apps will eventually be a big driver of sales, I think. For now, I
found this Tom's Hardware article on fitness exercise ratings that
go along with various games currently available. If the bicycling
game really was immersive, I'd buy the sensor in a heartbeat, as
trying to cycle in the winter where I live is a real drag.
