The Jester Accountability Index slid another 3% - A study was
done for the 100 biggest companies in America, using their proxy
statements, found that CEO compensation rose 3% to average of $14.5
mil, despite poor company performance y/o/y (as in the energy
sector, for example.)
I did not see data on this, but I'm quite certain that if one
looke at employee compensation, it certainly didn't rise 3% as
well. Well, as Marie Antoinette said, "Qu'lls mangent de la
......McDonalds"
Also, as per 'Ballmer's gift' - read a story about a (start-up,
I think) cell phone maker that just moved its operations to
Finland, and they already have the concept and a plan in mind.
More 'makers' means potentially more competition for
NOK, if I've got it right that they plan to get into that
hardware space, altho I expect this start up is not a terrible
threat, given its size.
