Activision buying King

Big deal. ATVI's non-GAAP 2016 numbers should rise to nearly $2
on this. Of course who knows how viable KING's long term prospects
are, but Kotick has a good track record with his big deals.
This mornings sell-off was a gift to cover any short and get a
long position imo. Once this over-reaction is over, people will
focus on what it means for 2016 numbers and beyond. With around $2
earnings, low $30's really isn't that expensive. I think this years
CoD has a shot of reversing the recent CoD declines too. Both
previous BLOPS games were huge sellers and if it even does about
75% of what each of those did, that's growth. I don't believe it
will ever return to its peak, but I do think this one can stem the
decline.

I was surprised to find that King generates the level of
revenues it does. Wonder what Kotik has in mind and what King
is working on, one would think it is something big enough to
command three times revenue

Call of Duty Saga? LOL, who knows. The important point to me is
it's an acquisition with cash (debt) not shares. Clearly Kotick is
all about delivering the earnings per share. Long term, that unit
may never make back $6BN. Short term, it's a huge boost to eps for
at least a few years, and ATVI can steadily pay down the debt just
like they did with previous big deals.
It's important to remember there's an investor day this Friday
too. You know there will be nothing but good things coming from
analysts after that.
