TWTR

I have started a small position on TWTR.  Roger McNamee from Elevation Partners is out pumping the stock naturally as it is possible that Elevation Partners still owns Tweater stock.  However, some of what he says makes sense to me.  I will keep a close eye on it as Tweater has not failed to disappoint so far, but I believe there may be a decent shot that the stock gets back into the mid 30s

Tweater stock?  :)

I think it is very expensive still. Earnings need to grow markedly from current to get in ball park of current price. 30 cents this year, 60 cents next year?

Also, while it does have a corner on its current user base, apps like snapchat allow for much deeper "relationships" in terms of marketing and communication. I am not convinced they can monetize TWTR to the extent they hope/wish before other apps take people share (hours, clicks, whatever) away. My 8th grade daughter has a twitter but doesn't use it and is not interested in facebook. Why I ask her? Because she can do everything she wants on Snapchat and instagram and likes the privacy of it. "I don't have to explain every word or picture I post to grandma." this is just a snapshot, but very few friends of hers are on facebook or twitter because they all communicate on snapchat. It's actually quite a nice app. I like the approach to stories and the relevance (they last 24 hours), and ability to DM/text pics, vids, etc. easily edit add text for fun. Most big companies are already on snapchat.

I would pay attention to college age into their 30's folks and see if they migrate more and more toward snapchat. That's twitters base.

Roger McNamee is pushing for Tweater to monetize the wealth of news by selling the "data", similar to Bloomberg.  I have loosely followed Roger McNamee for over 15 years, he is quite smart and gets technology like few out there.
