lt cap,
Good to hear that VZ will start testing 5g in 2016- A shame that
doesn't easily translate into capex spending in a significant way
until sometime later, as CIEN's revenue miss was atributed to ATT
not spending as much capex as anticipated, altho that ''miss' was
apparently 'forgiven' as it was seen, IIRC, as simply a 'delay'
that will show up in CIEN's revs soon.
Haven't read everything on the board yet, but I'm a bit bummed
by Goldman's sell rating crushing INFN down 4% - I own 'unoptioned'
shares that are now underwater, and my bet guess is to hang on and
wait until the dust clears - altho if other anaysts take up that
drumbeat, I may be sitting with those shares for some time.
Eventually, if Goldman is correct, those stagnant margins will
begin to improve. I would find it hard to believe that INFN's
acquisition of....(can't recall the co) will not benefit them, as
Fallon said in the CC that it absolutely was a great fit with their
products and plans. How patient the market wants to be about that,
esp. if Goldman's critique is correct - well, no doubt I'll
see.

IMO, INFN was fully valued, I am not surprised Goldman
Sachs downgraded it. Their reasoning seems correct given that
INFN's Metro Network product will have more competition and from
bigger and more established players, which will result in lower
gross margins. The company is an excellent company, so even
if in the long run it manages to grab a significant percentage of
the Metro Market, Goldman is taking the conservative route in
recommending clients to lighten up after the massive run the stock
has had.
That said, if the company surprises in its next CC, it
could just as well go back to the 24 level, in this market I would
not bet against stocks with momentum.
