OT - INFN
INFN has bought out a company called 'Transmode' which Fallon is
calling a perfect complementary match to what INFN excels in. Stock
is up slightly on the news. Seems pricey around $24,
certainly. But I'd be curious to know more about whether this
acquisition has enough synergy to start to be interested in INFN as
a holding, rather than a trade. As I said, at this price, I've got
a cautious attitude towards INFN - they've done great, but have a
pretty rich valuation, now that anlysts have fallen in love with
the stock. Haven't heard from lt cap for a good while. Hope you're
out there and doing well.
On ALU, I've been thinking about $3.45 as a PT at which I would
add again to my holdings and be glad to pay that. It has been in a
downtrend for a bit, but inch by inch rather than anything
dramatic. I may get an itchy trigger finger and buy it at $3.50
today. But so far, I don't see any reason for support to kick in. I
was also reading an article on gold, with the opinion that we
really haven't had a bad crisis that boosts that commodity. Not
sure about the 'boost', but as I think of it, the premise seems
right - all the potential crises - Greece, Ukraine, Iran nuke deal,
etc. have just not materialized when push came to shove. Perhaps we
are overdue for a 'correction' in more ways than the usual meaning
of that term. I don't think the Chinese blast qualifies - if it had
been timed to the new year on the Chinese calendar, they would've
just covered it over as 'planned fireworks.' Market seems
non-plussed by it. Ho hum.
LGF is flying - kissed its 52 week high today before backing
down a bit. Content and execution are king again. Avg. PT is now
$41.50. Not buying - have a small stake which was bought at $12.
Not enough to write options on, don't really want to deal with that
kind of capital gain right now. Just hope it lives long and
prospers.
