You guys know that from time to time I have stated my preference for Dividend over buybacks, in part because buybacks have a checked record as companies use them to:

1.- Offset options and grants given to executives - many companies abuse this.

2.- Dividends go directly to shareholders

That said, I am totally against Politicians trying to figure out a way to legislate this.
