Huaweii CFO Arrested in
Canada
The US is claiming Huaweii violated the Iran santions, it is
asking Canada to extradite the CFO. She is the daughter of
the Huaweii founder, no less! I am sure he is extremely well
connected with the top brass in the Chinese communist party.
That said, both Ericson and Nokia now stand even better chances
to grab more contracts across the EU and maybe even some Asian
countries. BTW, BT in the UK has now stated that Huaweii will
not be allowed to sell Core equipment, only access side
equipment.

What a disaster. The market is down about 3% from where the
futures were before this arrest news broke.
Now the buffoon has put himself in a box. Either he releases her
to save the China negotiations and with it the stock market and
avoiding it being red for the entire year, or he shows he's
unwilling to enforce the Iran sanctions, which he put in place when
he stupidly ripped up the existing Iran deal. How ironic btw, the
difference in response from Trump to Khashoggi being murdered, and
a woman allegedly defying a sanction.
I'm counting on ATVI having bottomed. It's been inching up on
big volume last couple of days while the market tanked. I wonder if
that's short covering. I like them the best out of the three
including EA and TTWO. EA for reasons already discussed, and TTWO
because the monetization for RDR2 looks unclear and that's surely a
big anticipated earnings driver in the next year or two while
they take forever to release games.

Just started looking at pubs in greater detail recently and
agree re: atvi. I bought 500 shares and will see what happens. I am
hoping it is just a bounce trade.
RDR2 economy may not be *as* bad as originally thought. Appears
fishing, catching alligators, etc. are easy ways to make money,
although apparently a bit tedious too. For me though, I do not mind
it. I havent had time to play as my semester nears its end, but I
spend a great deal of time in single player hunting, etc. to build
up the camp. So I won't mind fishing, etc. if I get good cash in
return. It will be interesting to see what they do with RDR Online
when beta is done though. they will probably need to tweak it
abit to make some things easier to obtain money.
One issue I read, if you are travelling with a nice buck you
caught hunting, every player on the map will try to kill you and
take it. Since I am usually the worst player on the map that will
suck for me. :)

Is there anything interesting to buy? Like I said earlier with
GTAV, that lends itself to an endless variety of homes, vehicles
and skins, which in turn means big spending by players.

"Anything interesting to buy?"
I don't know. I need to play online and check it out, but
through next week I am busy.

Jester,
I believe I read that Wedbush took ATVI off it's 'conviction'
list. Although the PT you named may be intact none the less. After
you originally wrote about ATVI, I've vague thought about buying my
first vg buy in years. Not a great day to to it being up about
3.50%. But maybe still a good idea. Another down day might make it
irresistible.
Some days ago, I had said I read a mini-article in Bloomberg
Business that was not terribly bullish on 5g deployment. Given that
I'm looking at paper, I can't cut and paste. I'll write the latter
part of the short story....
"A rapid 5g rollout is unlikely, particularly in Europe, where
4g adoption is still relatively low. Carriers such as Vodafone
Group Plc will more gradually add 5g capacity over the next five
years. The main motivation: cost reduction. Meeting data demands
with 4G networks through 2025 would be about twice as expensive as
with 5g, the Boston Consulting Group estimates.
For all the technological promise, the real driver of 5G in the
short term will be the bottom line, not growth."

Jamok,
I read that stocks are automatically removed from Wedbush'
conviction list when they drop 25%.

Jester,
Just in case you weren't gloomy enough about Trump's
capabilities, Tillerson breaks his silence:

Jester, what are you currently thinking with ATVI? I am up
around 7% in a short time frame, but wonder if I am better off
risking it to settle in for a run much higher.
