ot - INTC/AMD
OT - This has me concerned about INTC - it seems that AMD has a
chance, in the coming years, to really put a dent in INTC in the
server market. I don't much care about the pc desktop/laptop chip
rivalry, because that's not where the future is. But datacenter is
the future, in large part. The one thing the article doesn't
mention is that the market is a 'growing pie', rather than a
static, pure 'market share' game, as is true in American
telecoms.

Jamok,
Intel's stock price has done exceedingly well considering
all the challenges it has faced. Its management deserves all
the credit for steering it well. These challenges will
continue, IMO. Hard not to see it happening.
It was just a matter of time before AMD would begin to
nibble at the high margin areas, namely the Data Center
Server/Cloud market. BTW, the article mentions AMD’s recent
wins, impressive list. ARM will eventually crack the Cloud
market. Google is working on its own AI chips, which they
claim have an architecture which will make them better suited for
AI. I don't follow all of it as I used to, but I see
challenges persisting for Intel. That said, with the stock
price as high as it is, it’s obvious that this market does
not think it matters, until it does :-)
