OT - CIEN NOK
(maybe)
OT - Read a wire story that said the American telecoms will be
opening their purse strings before too long for 5G. Bad news -
through 2019, it's expected that 5G will only appear partially in
select markets, rather than a full roll out. Seems kinda like just
a generic story, perhaps computer generated (have you noticed that
some newspaper stories are gathered and written by computers from
various wire sources?) but thought I'd put it out there
anyway.

A phased roll out is typical. Same happened when 1G, 2G,
3G and 4G/LTE rolled out. As I have stated before, this cycle (roll
outs) will be multi year, I would guess it would go on for some 3
to 4 years in the US. Probably longer cycle for the rest of the
world, developed countries first then developing and last third
world coutries. Of course, the size and frequency of roll outs
could be faster or slower, does the article mention that
specifically?

lt cap,
No, the article was really not granular, more like generic
'headlines' of a story.
As for NOK's (wonderful) gain today, as usual, I can't find any
news that would explain why. Yahoo fianance is interesting from
several viewpoints - nothing but good news and achievements in the
past several days.

If their metrics are correct (and they may not be), it looks
like somwhere along the line they increased the dividend - now
listed as .18 (3.02%). IIRC, it used to be .11, but I'm
working from memory. Also, the 1 year analyst price target is
$6.81. That seems low to me, except that between the good news
(Apple suit agreement in late May) and the bad news (Last CC in and
outlook in July was sub-par) it may be accurate. But then again,
it's not a 1 year story. Still, I miss it bumping above $6.50. Ah,
the 'good old months.)

Re dividend. The dividend went from E 0.16 last year to E
0.17 this year. Hopefully Nokia increases again next
year.
