Nice calls on the INFN. With your confidence and then even the
cautious Jamok getting in yesterday, I pulled the trigger on 1K
after that on yesterdays big dip. Just dumped it right now though
since I'm not really paying attention to it.

lt cap,
While you've got your $4k shares in INFN, I'm looking to
accumulate another 1k at the right price. Today's bungie jump may
have provided just that. I'll see how things look tomorrow. It does
remind me of the very large price springs this stock was routine
for. An I infer that you may be in 'early', given that the rollout
of new products and income will occur in 2018.
And Jester is right on in his observation that I am cautious
(perhaps the less kind word is anxious) about going in (I hate
getting burned twice by a stock.) But (it amazes me), we've been
friends for more than 10 years now, I believe. I've dipped my toe
in the water, and I may get in up to my ankles, esp. if it drops
lower. (My 1k was bought in the $930s - lucky timing.) But I can
see that there's no that much downside, unless they can't
manage what their buyers are and when they spend. And Fallon sounds
more bullish than I can ever remember - althought he got it
completely wrong on his bullish projections in the disastrous CC. I
hope learned something about managing poor performance from
that.
Tried to sell CIEN calls for June 16 stk 25, but my computer
wouldn't cooperate. So neutral to up is what I need to benefit from
tomorrow's CC before the bell.

Yes, I am early. However, the products all come out
between end of this month and before year end, not next year.
The company has alluded to the fact that there is a lot of
pent up demand (IMO this is due to the fact that CapEx budgets have
been tight for many different reasons including mergers or because
CapEx was directed at different segments of the biz).
I believe that to be the case, I do not think it is fluff
or excuses on the part of management. I am assuming that
sales of these products will happen soon after release, it will not
be a torrent of orders, but should accelerate into 2018.
BTW, these releases will refresh the entire product portfolio
(Data Center, Metro, Long Haul and Subsea). The new PIC
modules will make them stand up among its competitors, IMO.

lt cap,
This is a response to a number of recent messages by you:
1. thanks for the exposition of the rationale to own INFN, esp.
in terms of the timing of their products.
2. You dropped your previous limit of shares by buying another
1k. Why didn't I do that? Because I was thinking that I bough my 1k
shars at $9.37, and after the bounce down, was hoping it might hit
$9.50. But it has been almost a constance 'bounce up, bouce down
for several days. I shold've know it would be on the 'bounce up'
from yesterday's $9.70's prices. Maybe the opportunity will come
again....but not likely because
3. CIEN came in with a strong beat and raised guidance. Yay!
Whole sector on fire today - all boats lifted, CIEN is now in the
black on my account. My NOK loss has been lessened considerably
over the last month or so,, etc. The sector really needed some kind
of good news, some sign that the sector spending was finally not as
lean as has been the signs for a long time now. As I look at CIEN's
price move, I'm seeing a 15% rise, unless my brokerage has it
wrong. Astounding.
4. I own some PANW, and I'm a cople points of breaking even with
their meteoric rise today. Talk abot volatiity! It touched the sky
at $200, missed numbers and guidance and were 'massaging' their
results, an the analysts took them below $110 not that long ago.
I'm embarassed to admit I had no idea that there even was a CC
coming up. If you don't own PANW, but came up with that news, I'm
abashed.
5. Just maybe the sector may start/continue to see some relief
and rise, if capex spending continues to deliver good results. All
boats should rise, as they are doing based on today's news. Sector
is en fuego! The NOK rise is especially welcomed - couple more
'chugs up' and we're in clover, after a cold and extended 'wait'
period.
6. Jester has successfully done his trademark short term
'buy and sell' on INFN. Kudos, yes. Glad my abandoning my usual
stance of 'caution.' was a 'buy' signal, lol Glad I could be of
service, :-)
