INFN: Insiders buying shares on the open market

Tom Fallon, the CEO bought 100K shares for a total of ~$1.195M, Brad Feller the CFO bought 25K for slightly less than $300K

lt cap,

That ~1.1 mil. $ buy of INFN by Fallon, and the 300k buy by the CFO seems substantial - I looked up Fallon's compensation (2014) and it's about $3 mln. - approximately $1mln in salary and 2 mln in stock. So buying another $1 mln at the market price (I think) is a substantial buy. I wonder how many times insider buying is correlated with stock price across time. But INFN rose ~5% yesterday on the news. As I said, given that the market has the attention span of a guppy, there might be some downdraft days where one could buy in at a better price. So far, INFN is down about 2%. I'm overweight in it already, but at these prices, with the mgmt. voting with their wallet.....I'm not sure. Hard to know how to balance the $ vote of confidence against the poorly handled CC, where there were clearly some disappointing events that they didn't forsee. Perhaps best seen as a long-term vote of confidence. I should buy but......my hand is having a hard time seriously pulling the trigger.

Funny that with data demand (and perhaps more important, increased suppply) higher, there's no relief for the sector - most everything is down again today. As if there was a complete disconnect between demand and the equipment that supplies it. Someday it will be different.

Thanks to Jester for the news that BF 5 gets previewed tomorrow by EA. Wonder how ATVI results might result in a 'sympathy' move in EA.

I agree, it is a substantial purchase relative to his salary.  Fallon also bought shares several years back when the stock was in the sub $5 level, this was before INFN started its climb towards the teens and beyond.  I tend to think this is positive signal that INFN problems are only a few quarters long before the company is back to beating expectations in a consistent way.
