ATVI and EA
ATVI and EA both popping today on Stifel upping their ATVI PT
from $35 to $40. As mentioned recently, I think $35 in this market
is a good price to lighten up on ATVI. I see on Yahoo the current
year estimates have gone up to $1.79, as I said they would after
the King buyout. OK, I said, "near $2", which they probably will be
after some small beats as is typical of Kotick. Still, that means
at $34.90 currently on today's pop it's at 19x forward earnings
which given the macro risks I think is plenty fair. EA under $65
may present the better opportunity. Their forward P/E (one quarter
further out than ATVI's) is a fraction below ATVI's currently, and
I suspect EA will be more involved in the VR buzz, and ATVI is
typically risk averse with new models. EA will get more buzz soon
too with the likes of Titanfall 2 being shown in June for multiple
platforms this time, and having a campaign, unlike the Microsoft
only and MP only Titanfall 1.
