Suri now has the chance to clean the slate

Suri now has the chance to clean the slate by airing any dirty laundry in this upcoming earnings, given the beating NOK shares are taking this morning.  He has an opportunity to do so.  Setting the bar low at this point would be very smart.

lt cap,

There are at least 2 puzzles here - One being that if the Feb. 11th CC may be an opp to air any dirty laundry, would a bullish investor buy before or after earnings? I *think* NOK has China exposure, and if so, that might speak to perhaps missing estimates. The other is why the analysts that have spoken so badly against this settlement are not balanced by other analysts who are less pessimistic - INFN was a bit of a different animal, in terms of not really being well covered/followed, whereas NOK and ALU were widely watched. I'm not second guessing your interp of the settlement, just quizzical as to why, so far, there is no defence of the stock.

I suspect the answer to #1 is both: buy before, save some powder for after. Hard to suss out, given that the stock has moved so strongly and so quickly - reminds me a bit of when ALU went from 3 to 4 in an eyeblink, then down again and up again. I (somewhat warily) will probably buy some more here - wish I had a crystal ball as to where it goes next, but then again - it's always been about the longterm story, not the short one.

lt cap,

Funny - before I read your reply I did the same - although heavier on the 'before' the cc - depending on what happens next. Increased my holdings by 18% with today's buy. I kept saying "I want to accumulate more" - well, now that your wish has been granted......lol

It will be interesting to see if any defenders appear - and of course, how the CC is viewed. At this price, assuming they keep the dividend, it *almost* becomes something of a dividend play as well - ~1.9%

Re defenders, good point.  I would expect that any defenders would wait until the CC, they may be gun shy at this moment.
