NOK - OT

I can't copy and paste, otherwise I'd write as a msg.
the pm I sent earlier: I have no idea of what the latest NOK press
release means in terms of acquisition dates. I called my brokerage,
who at most would say, basically, this: In the past it has been
common for such buyouts to be made as exchanges of stock, with the
only taxable event being the insignificant 'cash in lieu' of
fractional shares. But they have no specific information on the
NOK/ALU issue, pretty much refuse to call investor relations
themselves (I read that as the 'no liability' safety seat), and it
may well be, in a worst case scenario, we're told about a
substantial taxable event in 2016 that took effect in 2015. Why NOK
would want to piss off it's 'newest' shareholders puzzles me,
except for the general rule that managements in general are not
concerned with our being, de facto, 'mushrooms'.

My best guess, which really doesn't count for anything, is that
they'll wait until the official 'counting' of % of shares acquired
in the Jan4 - Jan5th time frame to say anything at all. My only
reaction is that if they're going to keep us in the dark and feed
us sh*t, it ought to be fresh sh*t, not the 2-3 week old kind.
"Aged' only applies to cheese. Although this whole deal seems
pretty cheesy. I will call the brokerage next week on the slight
chance that there is further clarity. And Santa might leave a pony
under my tree.
