Re: OT - INFN
lt cap,
Thanks for the news. Yes, NOK and INFN seem to be reacting
favorably - very much so for NOK. CIEN always seems, mysteriously
to have some inverse relationship to those two - I hesitated to
write calls when CIEN hit $27.50. It's been mysteriously dropping,
day by day, to $26.41, mirroring it's previously mysterious climb,
day by day. The one assumption I hold onto is that you can't run 5g
on 4g equipment, I assume. So the capex drought has to be
over, sooner or later, in the next couple years. I do wonder
whether the competition among optical network hardware makers will
mute the upside effect. I would think it's possible that, at least,
the increase in business might be delayed, i.e., margins become
razor thin to get the equipment in place, and profits only really
climb once orders for secondary equipment, from a now proprietary
vendor, are placed. I haven't stated this well, but I think you
know what I mean. Somewhat like how ALU remained alive all those
years ago by giving away equipment.
