Re: INTC: Reports it has lost
Apple's cellular modem biz
lt cap,
I'm sorry to hear the INTC -$17 bln news, but glad to know about
it. It unpleasantly surprises me because A. Traditionally, when
they've had such losses, it was in the form of a strategy to make a
footprint in a given sector, and 2. They've been really good about
perceiving early where dead-ends were in their initiatives, and
cutting their losses (such as selling their set-top box business to
someone - Verizon? whatever.)
I'm surprised, but glad to see them gaining ground, and back
over $50, but I'm nervous about the holding. Until they get a new
CEO, they're pretty much a rudder-less ship, policy-wise. Kraznich
was a good CEO. Wish he had kept his pants zipped. What is it in
male human nature that when one knows the cost of an affair, and
how many times what seemed like a good relationship eventually
turned into a public betrayal from seeing other powerful men have
to confront it being made public, that men still go blindly into
these relationships, figuring it will never happen to them. And if
you're INTC, why not just pump a bunch of money into developing
A.I. sex worker robots - a new form of 'protected sex.' As per
Asimov - if a robot cannot be charged with a crime, neither would
they have the right to sue you for maltreatment. Ah, the future is
so bright.
