Nate Silver had a good article on this. the polls were not that far off. By the time all the provisional and other ballots are counted, Clinton will win the popular vote by 1-2%. If only 1% or 1 of every 100 Trump voters in each state flipped to Clinton, Clinton would have won Michigan, NC, Penn and Wisconsin giving her the presidency and she would have won the popular vote by ~4% which is exactly what the avg predictions were. Crazy, right?
