Re: NOK: Another win in China. This time with China Mobile

lt cap,

The China deal sounds great for NOK. I would think they'd do (have already done) the standard way of protecting themselves against government harrassment by forming an entity or doing a deal with a Chinese 'sister' company (or is the just what China mobile is), which always seems to be some form of 'mordida' - the pound of flesh China takes for not targeting them.

The INFN press release is, I take it, their way of stemming the flow of blood by explaining how the long term story is well intact. On pg. 33 (as though I understaood what most of the technical details of the story meant, lol) is a statement which says they need/are willing to lower prices to establish/increase footprint. I'd think that may keep the stock perhaps range-bound, as I'd think at this point the street expects 'show me' profits to feel less skeptical about their prospects. Just my guess.

It was in ....the Needham article, I think, that cited NOK's consolidation 'woes' (their words, not mine) in integrating ALU into their existing business. Unfortune use of words, I think, as they cut costs (polite for 'firing people') and benefit from what ALU brings to their table. As you and others have said, if the CEO 'distributes' good news as time progresses on that front, it ought to help the stock and win over the 'woes' analysts perception.
