OT - EA
OT - EA - Google announced yesterday its line-up of future
products and prospects. Including their own approach to VR - unlike
others, they will not manufacture the hardware, or at least
anything more than the basics - they will put out a very stringent
OS (I think they you can't deviate much from the OS design, as
today is the case), and leave it to other companies to build their
hardware around it. Thus, it works with Androd smartphones that
will be running the new Adroid software (much like Samsung's
product works with their phones/tablets.) There were a number of
companies who were mentioned as to having already 'signed on' to
supplying hardware or software - with two VG companies - EA and UBI
already on the boat and will be designing VR games for the
platform.
While of course I don't expect an immediate impact, Jester has
spoken of again buying into EA pre-E3 if the price has regressed
towards - around 70? IIRC. But I'm wondering - have I got that
right about EA's price, and, given that it's clear (I think) that
this project has been going on for some time obviously, will/can EA
put on any kind of a potential 'stunner' demonstration, or is that
impossible, it being way early in development of even the software
so far, if I've got that right.
