In this very low rate environment, it is killing retirees.  I have also heard comment to the fact that Insurance Companies are struggling in this environment, unfortunately the comment was made in an interview and the person did not expand at all.  I can appreciate that however, insurance companies need  to park very large amounts of money in relatively safe vehicles.   Wonder what would happen if a hurricane came through Florida?
