Brian Shipman To Cover Media, Advertising And Publishing

NEW YORK, September 18, 2007 -- Jefferies & Company, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of Jefferies Group, Inc. (NYSE: JEF), today announced the hiring of Brian S. Shipman as a Senior Equity Research Analyst to cover the media, advertising and publishing industries. Mr. Shipman has over a decade of sell-side experience covering these industries.

Mr. Shipman joins an established technology, media and telecommunications equity research team which includes 12 US and 7 International senior analysts covering some 250 companies globally, in these sectors. The Firm’s global coverage of the technology, media and telecommunications sector includes five dedicated sector traders and some 130 investment banking professionals.

Mr. Shipman joins us from UBS, where he was the Senior Publishing and Advertising analyst prior to which he was a senior equity research analyst at Robertson Stephenson. Previously he was a senior analyst at Prudential Securities, where he covered publishing and broadcasting. He began his career in equity research at Gabelli and Company, Inc. He has a BA in Economics and Management from Albion College and an MBA from the University of Oregon. He was ranked #3 and #4 respectively, in the 2003 and 2004 Wall St. Journal "Best on the Street" in Advertising & Publishing.

Mr. Shipman will be based in the Firm’s New York Headquarters.
